Our Story - Do Read Once

I grew up in Tal — a small town in Madhya Pradesh where life was simple, money was careful, and big dreams were gently kept quiet. But even then, I noticed things. The way a good fabric felt between your fingers. The way a woman's whole posture changed when she wore something that was truly hers. I noticed, and I held onto it — not knowing why, not knowing when, just knowing that someday it would matter.

I moved to Indore after marriage in 2006. Life settled into a routine — a comfortable one, a loving one — but something in me kept a quiet fire going. Eight years of that fire. Eight years of watching, learning, dreaming in the background of everyday life.

It finally spoke up in 2014.

I was 31, and I decided I was done waiting for the right moment. So I started with ₹18,000 , took a quiet little trip to Ratlam, and came home with my first stock and a heart full of hope.

I sold from home. No store, no logo, no grand launch. Just carefully chosen clothes laid out in a living room, and women who walked in as customers and left as friends. The colony got talking. Then their friends came. Then their friends' friends. Those were some of the happiest, most chaotic, most alive days of my life.

And through all of it, some things were never up for negotiation.

Every piece had to be worth it — worth your money, worth your trust, worth the moment you'd wear it in. The fabrics had to feel as good as they looked. The prices had to be honest. And every woman who came to me had to leave feeling heard, not just sold to. That wasn't a business strategy. That was just how I was raised. You treat people well. You don't cut corners on quality. You build relationships that last longer than a single transaction — that's the Indian way, and it will always be our way.

In 2023, that living room became a store. Sawariya Sarees. Loved by the neighbourhood, then by the city. And in 2026 — with this very website you're on right now — we became Aura by Nirali. A new name. A bigger stage. The same soul.

I look at where we are today and I feel so many things at once — grateful, proud, a little disbelieving, and deeply humbled.

Because the name has grown. But the values haven't moved an inch.

We still choose every piece with obsessive care. We still believe premium quality should never come with an unfair price tag. We still show up after the order is delivered — because the relationship doesn't end at checkout, it begins there. And we still treat every customer the way guests are meant to be treated in an Indian home — with warmth, with honesty, and with genuine care.

This is not just a brand. It's twenty years of a woman who refused to let go of her dream. It's my father's faith, my husband's support, and the trust of every woman who ever knocked on my door.

And now, you're here. That means everything to us.

Welcome to Aura by Nirali — where every piece carries a little bit of that story.
